BIG-BUDGET PUSKÁS FILM TO BE PRODUCED BY ANDY VAJNA

Film producer Andy Vajna is planning a film about the life of Ferenc Puskás, he disclosed to Index.hu. Vajna’s previous colleague Joe Eszterhas, renowned his work on Children of Glory, Basic Instinct, Flashdance, Music Box and Showgirls, is already working on the script.

“As a producer I’ve been thinking for a long time about what an exciting film could be made about the most famous Hungarian footballer that would excite audiences. Joe Eszterhas – who has already started working on the script – and I have begun working on the project. We make a fantastic team; we’ve already worked together on a number of films, the last one being Children of Glory” said Vajna. “Everyone the world over knows Puskás; in many places even today the name Puskás springs to people’s minds when Hungary is mentioned. It’s time that a film was made about Puskás’ life”.

Story reported previously that the Puskás film was already being made, and now we know the reason for Joe Eszterhas’ recent visit to Budapest. The scriptwriter of numerous Hollywood blockbusters such as Basic Instinct is once again working together with Andy Vajna as they prepare the film on the life of the most famous Hungarian. It would appear that one of Eszterhas’ helpers in making the long-planned production will be Ambassador of the Puskás legacy György Szöllősi.

“After a long period in incubation and of trial and error, it would appear that an international production worthy of Ferenc Puskás and with the involvement of world-famous producers is now in the making” added the Editor in Chief of Nemzeti Sport György Szöllősi, who was recently appointed as Ambassador for Hungarian Football and for all matters Puskás.
