Ronaldo is Best Player while Puskás Award goes East

Cristiano Ronaldo won FIFA Player of the Year and the FIFA Puskás Goal of the Year award went to Malaysia in a thrilling evening in Zürich, Switzerland. Manager of the Year went to Claudio Ranieri for taking unfancied Leicester City to the English Premier League title and Carli Lloyd won Women's Player of the Year.
Ronaldo, who had already won the Golden Ball prize for his exploits last season in winning the UEFA European Champions League and 216 European Championship, was favourite for the FIFA Best Player award too. The winner of the FIFA Puskás Goal of the Year trophy was not so predictable though, Malaysia's Mohd Faiz Subri taking the honour which he accepted and for which he read out his acceptance speech from a smart phone.
