Paris Saint-Germain's Swedish international forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic won the 2013 Puskás Award for the year's most beautiful goal.
Paris Saint-Germain's Swedish international forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic won the 2013 Puskás Award for the year's most beautiful goal. The prestigious prize was presented by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at the FIFA Gala in Zurich's Congress Centre on 13th January 2014.
The PSG striker deserved this year's award for fantastic overhead volley into the goal from more than 30 metres in Sweden's friendly match against England in November 2012. Although the goal was scored in late 2012, this period already falls in the voting period designated for the following year's competition. Ibra was heavily tipped to win the award ahead of the vote and even though the other two goals on the short list of three were beautiful too, they could not stop the vote turning out as predicted.
